Clynderwen is a country straight town as well as community, traditionally in Carmarthenshire in Wales, however provided as part of Pembrokeshire. It pushes the A478 Tenby to Cardigan road south of the village of Llandissilio as well as north of the community of Narberth. Clunderwen, translating into English as “oak thicket”, is named after an estate of the same name. On 1 April 2003, the village was moved from the management county of Carmarthenshire to that of Pembrokeshire, following a border adjustment between the counties. At the same time, a name change to Clunderwen was suggested to reflect the real usage by the area council and on road and other indications.
